Why is it so difficult for men to listen?

When sound waves enter the external auditory meatus, the tympanic membrane vibrates. That causes the ossicular system (malleus, incus, stapes) to vibrate. The vibration of the stapes causes the oval window, the part of the cochlea to which the stapes is connected, to vibrate. The oval window vibrations causes the fluid above the basilar membrane, the scala vestibuli, to be pushed deeper into the cochlea. This causes the basilar membrane which lies beneath the scala vestibuli to vibrate. Those vibrations cause the fluid in the cavity below the basilar membrane to be pushed outward towards the direction of the middle ear, utlimately causing a rhythmic bulging of the round window into the middle ear. It is the hair cells of the organ of Corti that transform the mechanical basilar membrane vibrations to nervous conduction.

...Then after all this it would take a few pages for me to tell you how the sound waves travel through those nerves to eventually get interpretated in the brain...

If they can't remember to put the seat down, you think they can manage all of this to actually listen?

...something to think about as the day gets close before you say NO and leave me...

just wanted to share my thoughts in my head right now before you tell me what i know you're going to tell me... ...this might be pointless and not fruitful in anyway at this point,... but just going to put it out there...

i dont want to see how things go anymore... i want a full estabished relationship where we both are honest, respect each other's feelings and space and give each other tons and tons of understanding....

....THEN if something goes wrong between us after that and is bad enough to warrant breaking up for...and anybody would break up... ...then we break up--FOR GOOD and never ever look back..!
...that would be the last straw and we know we tried everything and (you & i) is not happening!

CMS Announcement

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have notified Medicare contractors to begin the process of implementing the 10.6% reduction in the physician payment update for the remaining six months of this year. Effective July 1, 2008, the current Medicare conversion factor of $38.0870 will decrease to $34.0682, unless Congress approves legislation to stop the pay cut.

For the first six months of 2008, physicians avoided a 10.1% reduction to their payment update, as a result of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007. The Act also provided a 0.5% increase to the physician payment update through June 30, 2008. Those payment provisions of the Extension Act expire June 30th.

If legislation is approved and signed by the President, CMS will instruct its contractors to alter their fee schedules to reflect the revised payment update and conversion factor. Depending on when legislation is passed, payments may be made retroactively. CMS will provide further instructions to its contractors and the physician community once more details of any changes become available.

Stay tuned for more information on how you can get involved to stop these cuts from becoming a reality.

Silver Foil

Varakh

All this fury about ox gut and the vegeterians' uproar, yet no one conducted and published a paper on how cummulative consumption of silver affects health. There's stuff about argyria, but you'd think you'd stop eating it when you started to look like a smurf! I say, let's feed Varakh to mice and see if it causes cancer...

We'll find out if it will kill you eventually that's if Diabetes Mellitus Type II doesn't kill you first from eating all that Mithai!

It can't be that bad, we used to use silver as an antibiotic and silver is still mixed with mercury to make amalgams that are put in your mouth! We also use radioisotopes of gold to to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis! Thus the ancient logic, "Something so pretty has to be good for your health" may hold true!

I need some diamonds for my next experiment... ;-)

TOP TEN MEN TO AVOID BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH...

10) Men who curse and abuse
9) Men who try to control you
8) Men who are possessive
7) Men who are all talk and no game
6) Men who are dishonest
5) Men who fake calls
4) Men who lie about where they are
3) Men who don't smile when you ring them
2) Men who can't get it up
1) Men who look for your faults rather than value your strengths and embrace your assets...

Don't need these men! Who wants to be with someone who constantly says and does things that are going to hurt you? Rather be single and married to medicine! (At least your patient won't care if you're not pretty!)
